We request approval of an alternate means/method for the vertical refrigerant riser condition based on ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 15-2024 Addendum a (May 30, 2025) for continuous refrigerant pipe or tube, including joints and connections tested in accordance with ASHRAE 15-2024 ?9.13. Specifically, consistent with the Addendum language, a shaft enclosure would not be required for this continuous piping arrangement when joints/connections are tested per ?9.13, and areas that contain only continuous refrigerant piping (or only pipe/tube with joints/connections tested per ?9.13) would be exempt from the effective dispersal volume calculation unless part of connected spaces.
