The proposed construction consists of drilled steel soldier pile and lagging walls SOE along the north, east and south sides of the perimeter of the proposed building foundation. The SOE also accommodates the installation of the proposed tower crane mat foundation, The maximum retained height of the shoring is 18 feet of excavation. All soldier piles, lagging rakers, tiebacks and bracing will remain inside of the subject property boundaries. On the west side of the proposed excavation these drawings specify staged concrete underpinning of the adjacent existing masonry building. The shoring design is based on lab testing and borings B1 and B2 from the ECS Mid Atlantic, LLC, Inc geotechnical report dated May 3, 2024 with a revision on June 14,2024.

ECS will advance four borings to a depth of 15 feet bgs with a track-mounted Geoprobe. Each of the four borings will be developed into temporary pre-packed monitoring wells to a maximum depth of 15 feet bgs.
