Fasten all slate shingles using stainless steel roofing nails, installed per manufacturer guidelines to prevent overdriving or slate breakage. Maintain proper headlap and side lap to ensure long-term durability and water tightness. Install ridge, hip, and perimeter details according to slate manufacturer specifications and standard slate installation practices.
