THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF THE RENOVATION OF AN EXISTING TWO-STORY BRICK RESIDENCE WITH A CELLAR, LOCATED IN THE SOMERSET PLACE NEIGHBORHOOD OF NORTHWEST WASHINGTON, D.C. SELECTIVE DEMOLITION INCLUDES THE REMOVAL OF INTERIOR PARTITIONS AND PLUMBING FIXTURES ON THE CELLAR AND FIRST LEVELS TO FACILITATE A RECONFIGURED LAYOUT. ON THE FIRST LEVEL, INTERIOR WALLS WILL BE REMOVED TO CREATE AN OPEN-CONCEPT KITCHEN AND DINING AREA, SUPPLEMENTED BY A NEW POWDER ROOM. CELLAR WORK INCLUDES THE DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING POWDER ROOM AND PARTITIONS TO ALLOW FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW OFFICE, LAUNDRY SUITE, AND FULL BATHROOM.

Building permit — demolition
The scope of work includes the removal of the interior wall separating the dining room and kitchen, as well as designated partition segments at the cellar level. It also involves the demolition of portions of the exterior wall at the powder room to facilitate the resizing and closing of the window opening, and the demolition of the cellar-level powder room to prepare for its conversion into a full bathroom. All subsequent Alteration and Repair work, including the reconstruction of walls and bathroom installation, will be filed under a separate building permit application.
